A new year. The old year gone. A fresh new start. That's exactly what Jesus gives us everyday. Another chance to do the right thing. To be who God has called you to be! To be a light in the dark. To help someone in need. To make a difference right where you are. To share Jesus love with someone who desperately needs a Savior! Just imagine how we could change the world if each one of us grabbed the opportunities in front of us every day!

1 John 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life…..

Wow, alive but not living. Doomed to death even while alive.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: The old has gone, the new has come!

The decision to become a new creation is only the first in a lifetime of new choices that have to be made…. We must choose to forget the things of the past, Philippians 3:13, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead and pressing on toward the goal (v14).

The goal here is to share what we have been freely given, new life through Jesus Christ! It takes intentional effort to reach out, to help the helpless, to comfort the hurting, to guide the lost. Isn't that exactly what Jesus commanded us to do?? I'm know that most of us fall way short here, but there is good news! Tomorrow is a new day, a fresh start. Each day you and I encounter people in trouble, friends with heartaches, fellow workers or neighbors who are longing for someone to care. The Lord has placed us in our families and communities so that we can be used when He wants to communicate His love, forgiveness and sometimes confrontational truths through us. God has a plan and strategy for each situation and relationship. All we have to do is be willing and sensitive to His will. I challenge you to get busy doing what God has made you for! Make this be the year of renewal God intends for it to be! Be a light!
