Today I am going to start with a verse in Genesis.

Genesis 6:5
The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

Now bare with me for a minute here, for a point is going to be made and you don't want to miss this.

God knew that man's wickedness had become internalized. That very thought made God sorry He had made man and His own heart was grieved. Then the Lord declared that He would not again destroy every living thing even though the heart of man is evil. So GOD set out to put an end to this by coming to this earth in the form of a man and show us that we do not have to live out a life following the evil of the heart. So an angel came to Mary and said, " And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. Jesus lived a life with a heart of the same flesh as us and yet never did any evil thing. Many wondered how this could be and Jesus explained very clearly to his disciples after He spoke this parable.
Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable.  “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them?  For it does not go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of people, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead.
The truth is that you do not have to be a slave unto the heart of evil and join the dead. There is another way. Jesus came to tell us the truth. Jesus came to teach us the way. Jesus came to help us to understand. Satan places a temptation in the mind of men, but there is an opportunity to reject that temptation just like Jesus did in His wilderness experience and throughout His life, Or you can let it germinate in the heart, thus giving in to the temptation and therefore doing the evil of the heart. The father of lies, Satan, is an expert at deception to turn one's heart away from God. The choice is ours and whether we succumb to the temptations Satan sends our way or to be victorious over him, depends on what lies in our hearts.
Removing the temptations of the flesh from the heart involves presenting a willing heart to God and letting Him perform whatever surgery is necessary. The Bible describes this as circumcising your heart. The heart that loves God, serves and walks with Him will grow in strength, becoming pure. One whose heart is prepared for God will be touched by Him and have a tender heart, following the example of Jesus' humility. Those whose heart God stirs receive His wisdom and are delighted in Him.

What is in your heart can be evidenced in your emotions

Your heart reveals: When you are afraid. The Bible also refers to fear as being faint hearted. The cure for fear is a courageous heart which can only be obtained through faith in God who can tackle all the trials and enemies that come your way. Examine the Scripture to see how many times you can find the admonition to not be afraid. When you examine the context in which the verse is given, you will discover that faith in God, is the solution.

When you are discouraged. To lose heart is to be discouraged. That expression is used throughout scripture. The discouraged heart can be strengthened through trusting in God.

When you are sad or are in need of comfort. The grieving or sad heart can be refreshed and renewed and comforted.

When you are convicted of sin and cleansed from sin through God's forgiveness. The same Holy Spirit who was there when you gave your heart to Jesus Christ will convict your heart when you have sinned. As you were cleansed when you became a believer, He will continue to cleanse you as His Spirit convicts you of sin so you can be productive and bear fruit for Him.

The Heart: Growing in God for Eternity

He put eternity in their hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). You who seek God, your hearts shall live (Psalm 69:32).

Eternity with God begins the moment you are adopted as a child of God into His family. While still residing here on earth, He supplies all that is needed to mold the heart of His child into one whose heart truly trusts in Him. He provides prayer - the ability to talk with Him at any time. He has given His word as a guidebook. If He asks you to do any task, He gives you the ability to do it.

With a heart wholly dedicated to God, you will be able to live life productively on earth and store up treasures in heaven.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The question's here are simple:
1. Do you want to join the dead?
2. Do you want to reject the temptation like Jesus did in His wilderness experience and throughout His life?

Which will you choose?

FATHER,
I pray we choose the second and start learning to reject the temptation like Jesus. I pray we start to chip away the hardness of our hearts piece by piece and start to form a heart of JESUS. A heart of eternity. A heart of love. I pray we turn to Jesus and trust Him with all our heart. I pray in the name of Jesus that the Holy Spirit start to move in all who read this and to start a work that only you FATHER can finish. I pray that your love for us FATHER pours over us like a flood from heaven and that many lives are changed. I pray that the number of changed lives continue to be added day by day. I pray with a thankful heart, a peaceful mind and in the name of Jesus the King of Kings and the son of the living GOD. AMEN!
