We should be concerned with making a difference in the lives of others. One of the great loses of the American dream is the connectivity of the people. We have become so individual and so self-centered that we rarely find time to involve ourselves in the lives of others.
I can remember when It was a very common thing for all the farmers to help each other in time of need. A time when people traded pears for apples. A time when people loaned others things without asking for something in return. A time when neighbors would come together and have conversations about difficult things happening in their life's.
In Isaiah, “They helped everyone his neighbor; and everyone said to his brother, Be of good courage. Just think of the difference it would make if we could get back to doing that. What kind of community would there be where we live? How much easier would life be if we just started involving ourselves in the lives of others. What a difference we would be making in the world if one community got involved in another community.
You know the bible says in Romans 14:7 “For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.” We do need each other and we add to each others life in many ways.
My prayer for today, “Lord, help me to be a helper making a difference in others lives.” I can help the lost, lonely, discouraged, hurting and confused. God help me to be a helper to others. Help me to be a difference maker today Lord. In Jesus name I pray up. Amen!
