What you believe is what you become.

In my line of work, I come in contact with many different types of people. I remember this one time, I was showing this person a job that I needed them To do. I asked, do you think you can do this job for me? They answered, I don't Believe I can do that job. I said, Well, give it a try and lets just see how you do at it. I had another person come over and train them on how to do the job. The next day I went back and asked how they were doing and how the training was going? I was told again, I don't believe I can do this job. The trainer said, I have tried and tried but they just Can't get it. I don't think this is a job for them.

I saw right away that because this person believed they couldn't do it, they couldn't do it.

On the other hand, I had another person that I took and showed them a job that I needed them to do. I asked, do you think you could do this job for me? They said, I am not sure but I believe I can. I had the same person come over and train them on the job. The next day the trainer came to me and said, they are ready. They can run the job with no problems. I saw right then that if a person believed they could do it then they could do it.

I think it is the same way when it comes to our bodies. If we believe we are weak then we are weak and if we believe we are strong then we are strong. The same goes for if we believe we are sick then we are sick. If we believe we are healthy then we are healthy. You say, how can this be if I am sick then I am sick and I need something to make me better.I understand but at the same time I don't think you understand. See there is a story in this book I have. Let me share it with you.

Many years ago, there was this man who was a local official. He appeared, bowed politely before Jesus and said, “My daughter has just now died. If you come and touch her, she will live.” Jesus got up and went with him, his disciples following along. Just then a woman who had hemorrhaged for twelve years slipped in from behind and lightly touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can just put a finger on his robe, I’ll get well.” Jesus turned—caught her at it. Then he reassured her: “Courage, daughter. You took a risk of faith, and now you’re well.” The woman was well from then on. By now they had arrived at the house of the town official, and pushed their way through the gossips looking for a story and the neighbors bringing in casseroles. Jesus was abrupt: “Clear out! This girl isn’t dead. She’s sleeping.” They told him he didn’t know what he was talking about. But when Jesus had gotten rid of the crowd, he went in, took the girl’s hand, and pulled her to her feet—alive.

As Jesus left the house, he was followed by two blind men crying out, “Mercy, Son of David! Mercy on us!” When Jesus got home, the blind men went in with him. Jesus said to them, “Do you really believe I can do this?” They said, “Why, yes, Master!” He touched their eyes and said, “Become what you believe.” It happened. They saw. Matthew 9:18-31

You see, we become what we believe. if we believe we can do something then we can do it. If we believe we are healthy then we are healthy. If we believe we are rich then we are rich. If we believe we can be healed from any sickness then we can be healed. There is one thing that we have to understand though. There is more to believing than just simply believing. We also have to put action into what we believe. We have to do our part in order for Jesus to do His part. See, in the story each person did something more than just believe. The the town official came to Jesus. The woman hemorrhaging came to Jesus. The blind men Followed Jesus. We have to come to Jesus. We have to act on what we believe can happen and it will happen. It might not be in the way we want it to happen but it will happen. If your tired, hurt, worried, sick, lost, poor, helpless, blind, death, mute, weak, or just filled with sin, then come to Jesus today and He will take care of you.

All you have to do is just come to Jesus believing that He can do what He says He can do. Once you do, Jesus is going to touch you and tell you,

“Become what you believe.” It will happen!
