ABOUT ME

Melissa Tuner Johnson

Anderson,SC

I am a Jesus seeker. I am saved by God's grace. I want to share the good news with the world, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light. Jesus commands this from us in Mark 16:15 "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."

Today I come before you Lord with a pure heart, seeking to do Your will. Give me Your words Lord, that You will be glorified in all that I do. Your praise will forever be on my lips. You alone are my God, You are my rock and my fortress. You are my salvation. I will rejoice in you all the days of my life. Thank You Lord, for hearing my plea and accepting my prayer, in Jesus name, Amen!

Romans 10:9  If you declare with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved

Out with the old, in with the new!

A new year. The old year gone. A fresh new start. That's exactly what Jesus gives us everyday. Another chance to do the right thing. To be who God has called you to be! To be a light in the dark. To help someone in need. To make a difference right where you are. To share Jesus love with someone who desperately needs a Savior! Just imagine how we could change the world if each one of us grabbed the opportunities in front of us every day!

Be A Light

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Thursday, October 9, 2014
Lately I have been thinking about hurting people all around me. So here I am, putting my thoughts into words. It seems as though everywhere I look I see people struggling. I know we all have struggles, but I’m referring to the kind that tears you apart inside and leaves you empty. Over the summer I accompanied my daughter to a Vans Warped Tour concert. I say accompanied because it was undoubtedly one of the last places I would have chosen to be. But of course, God used it to open my eyes. I...

On Your Own

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 In : Preaching
Are you going through life on your own? We all have had circumstances in our lives that have caused us to rely on faith or ourselves. I personally have been hurt and disappointed by some of those circumstances. I'm sure that most of you could say the same. How we respond to these situations is so very important. If we respond with anger, or some sort of retaliation we only makes matters worse. The solution is to take it to God in prayer. I know, it seems that, as a christian that would be a g...

Will you let GOD use you?

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Tuesday, January 14, 2014
As this new year has begun I have been thinking about the change that takes place in us when we surrender our lives to Christ. How we are made new ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, the old has gone , the new is here). As one year ends we reflect on all that has happened, some good, some bad, sometimes worn down by it all. As the new year begins we look forward to new beginnings. When we come to GOD we are worn down by sin, but He begins a tran...

Love

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Monday, October 7, 2013
I've been thinking today about love. There are many different kinds of love that we experience through out our lives. We have love for our parents, love for extended family and friends. Some of us have pets that we love. We have love for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Many of us have children and grandchildren that we love beyond measure. Most have spouses that we love so much that we took an oath to spend our entire lives with them. That being said, we have all experienced the disappoin...

You Are Called

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Monday, September 16, 2013
God made every person with the intent of having a relationship with Him. If you don't have a personal relationship with Him nothing in this world will ever satisfy you. If you will choose to spend time in the Word and in prayer then God will change the way you think. You will be able to look and see that God has a plan for your life no matter what your circumstance.             Romans 12:2 NLT  Don't copy the behavior of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing t...

God's Promises

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Thursday, August 15, 2013 In : Promises
We have all heard of great testimonies of salvation. They let us know that not one person has ever been too bad for God to forgive. In fact, God has made everything that we need available to us to be over comers, if we take hold of His promises by faith.  I believe that there are prophetic promises that God declares over us, His children. The first being season of favor and grace. We need to speak grace into every area of our lives, expecting blessings to show up everyday! Ezekiel 34:26 I w...

What Are You Searching For?

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Friday, July 26, 2013
Today I am reminded that people everywhere are searching for "something". Most people don't even realize what that something is. We are always looking for more. For some it is more things. For others it is more time. It may be a thrill that some are searching for. Others may be looking for love. Still others are searching for something to fill an empty place in their own hearts. Those who know Christ may be searching for a closer relationship with Him. What is it that you are searching for?  ...

Praise and Prayer

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Thursday, July 18, 2013
Prayer and worship are two of the most mentioned commands in the Bible. More than anything else GOD calls us to worship and pray to Him. We should all be prayer warriors, standing in the gap for others. Ephesians 6:18 tells us to pray for one another. We are called to pray without ceasing in Galatians 2:20. Even when we don't know what to pray for the spirit will intercede for us Romans 8:26. I think we should all use this means of communicating with the Father to the fullest. JESUS is our e...

A Life Of Faith

Posted by Melissa Turner Johnson on Thursday, June 27, 2013 In : Faith
A life of faith means trusting God no matter what happens. Living by faith means that you trust God completely. That you know He has a plan for your life and He is working out that plan in His own good time. You can trust fully that every crisis and every situation is leading you to the next thing God has for you.

One thing that is very crucial to living this life of faith is to not trust your feelings. This is very difficult because we are feeling people. We must not let our feeling...
